Costa Rica’s official currency is the Costa Rican colón (CRC), although U.S. dollars are widely accepted. Still, it’s a good idea to carry some colones for everyday expenses like transportation, groceries, and local restaurants.

Banks in Escazú

Escazú has branches of major banks such as Banco Nacional, Banco de Costa Rica, and BAC Credomatic. Here you can exchange U.S. dollars for colones at the official and safest rates. Most banks are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ATMs
